Band from Kelso, WA founded by brothers Mike Vernon Davis and Josh Davis in 2009. Collaboratively crafting honest first-person reflections into carefully arranged concept-rock. In their early career, the pair were known for coupling those reflections heavily with comedic and absurdist elements. However, with the years, the band has shed some of its comedic armor and learned to choose with intention the best moments to utilize its comedic tendencies, thus leaving more room for the authentically vulnerable elements of the band's music. The tunes break status quo and make things awkwardly vulnerable, but then let you down easy with humor.
Confronting difficult themes of masculinity, privilege, and abuse, SEACATS’ new record (due out in 2022) utilizes that growth and courage to interrogate older brother Josh’s experience in an abusive family system with therapeutic detail.
With the help of a cast of bandmates SEACATS (Keenan Calhoun, Aubrey Marks-Johnson, Jordan Cole, Jesse Cohen, Jacob Whinihan, Hannah Schmidt, David Conover, Harry Smith) has produced three full-length records, 100s of videos and live streams, a late-night show, and a stage play. Mike Vernon Davis has also been active as a record producer and audio engineer in Seattle, WA, since 2014. While working as the house engineer at the Hall of Justice recording studio in Seattle, Mike has produced records by Great Grandpa, Cumulus, and Special Explosion.
