sean beaver (stylized in lowercase), an independent techno/electronic Indigenous artist based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and originally from the Driftpile Cree Nation in Treaty 8 territory. Incorporating his Indigenous heritage into the music, with select Pow Wow elements, percussion, and vocal chants added throughout his high energy hybrid performance of live loops and original produced music. Sounding of a cross between Teenage Mutants, The Chemical Brothers, and Richie Hawtin. Sober since 2006. With nine albums released to date, plus another album set to release in December 2024. sean beaver was a 2024 nominee for two YYC Music Awards, Indigenous Artist of the Year & World/Cultural Recording of the Year. Previously nominated for Rap-Hip Hop-Electronica Album of The Year at the 2021 Summer Solstice Indigenous Music Awards and was nominated Best Instrumental Album at the Indigenous Music Awards in 2015, and 2017, and won in 2015.
