Sebi Bârzeianu (Oradea - 22 June 1986) is a Romanian guitarist living in Timișoara. He started playing by chance in his early teenage years after receiving his first guitar - a nylon-stringed acoustic - as a surprise birthday gift. During highschool, he was lucky to have as both friends and teachers Vlady Săteanu (Phoenix, ex-Sarmalele Reci) and Marius Pop (Solo, Smiley, Celelalte Cuvinte). Even though he is left-handed, he plays the guitar in the conventional right-hand position.
After moving to Timișoara as a student of the “Politehnica” University Computer Science faculty, he played in several bands in the local club scene. In 2014 he joined the Romanian pop-rock band Phaser, where he honed his songwriting and live performance skills.
In February 2021, Phaser’s album “Început de Univers” was released by MediaPro Music, a label of Universal Music Romania.
In late 2020 Sebi started working on his first solo project, titled “Perceptions of Time” - an all-out instrumental rock guitar album that marks his first effort as a solo artist. The album is produced by fellow Phaser member Radu Racz, who also played bass. “Tokyo“ is the first single off the new album due to be released by Universal Music Romania.
