With his brand new solo project Sennah, musician/producer Johannes Bramness Vaage embraces his musical schizophrenia and merges avant-pop, electronica, electroacoustic music and world music. Using deep kicks, tender vocals, macro dynamics and found sounds, he makes music with a distinctive sketch-like quality.
Johannes Vaage grew up Oslo and Berlin and worked as a musician in Bergen before moving to Kristiansand. He studied under <a href="spotify:artist:3GNzfnhVE1aY6fgK403107" data-name="Jan Bang">Jan Bang</a> and finished his master's degree in guitar in 2019. Subsequently, he was enrolled in Talent Norges Talentsatsing i elektronisk musikk, a three-year state-funded talent program in electronic music, with Marcus Forsgren from <a href="spotify:artist:68HFSFMCZzyRjkkm9bv5Vt" data-name="Jaga Jazzist">Jaga Jazzist</a> as his mentor. He now lives in Oslo, working as a guitarist, producer, songwriter, improvisational musician, voice actor and illustrator.
His musical work includes collaborations with leading Norwegian musicians and producers like <a href="spotify:artist:4KdX4Etzvh6jyp13NTJklt" data-name="Tord Gustavsen">Tord Gustavsen</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:28ACZQpjskBqyAfPTvfraW" data-name="Erlend Mokkelbost">Erlend Mokkelbost</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:4Eg78cbJ9xV2EP0WInz33A" data-name="Bendik Baksaas">Bendik Baksaas</a>. He is a founding member of the improvised techno-collective /grå that plays regular shows BLÅ in Oslo. He just co-wrote and played guitar on <a href="spotify:artist:6cj0DfbcgWVo53BtyTEH6r" data-name="Bård Berg">Bård Berg</a>'s song <a href="spotify:track:1LGupUFvivuzJWEgbSmqJU" data-name="Alone Is Almost Better">Alone Is Almost Better</a>, which is now on high rotation on NRK P3, and is currently producing <a href="spotify:artist:7LbuenKfQNLPKzvi1rKPBG" data-name="Madden">Madden</a>'s upcoming project.
