Born Nicholas Shelby, Sensu grew up as a musically inclined child. He played the Trombone in high school and had a father who was a DJ. Sensu is the embodiment of originality and uses his experiences and musical acumen to create an amalgamated and original sound. Sensu has had a vast array of musical influences however he accredits the pivotal influences and inspiration in his life to Outkast, Goodie Mob and the Dungeon Fam, Lupe Fiasco, N.E.R.D, NSYNC, Parliament and The Funkadelics, Snoop Dogg, A Tribe Called Quest, Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, Redman, Ludacris, Devin the Dude, Michael Franks, Jimi Hendrix, Mf doom, Wu-tang as well as composers such as Tchaikovsky, Bach, and the eternal talents of Miles Davis, and Charlie Parker. Sensu Bean wants to touch lives through his music and inspire people who need it. This all culminates in Sensu Bean producing a musical experience that is enjoyable, easy going but also authentic and grounded in reality.
