This collection of work is a time capsule with every new project representing a memory in Nigel Hurd’s life; as well as a showcase of musical and lyrical progress.

Sepia Vale hopes to encourage individual musicality and expression. Nigel models vulnerability as he showcases his musical journey for listeners with the aim of inspiring others.

Born in St. Catharines, Canada, Nigel Hurd found an interest in music throughout his high school years(The same high school as <a href="spotify:artist:2Hkut4rAAyrQxRdof7FVJq" data-name="Rush">Rush</a> drummer <a href="spotify:artist:6NyQZVKtWWsd8nkUMSizry" data-name="Neil Peart">Neil Peart</a> ). Early influences consisted of household classic rock acts such as <a href="spotify:artist:3WrFJ7ztbogyGnTHbHJFl2" data-name="The Beatles">The Beatles</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:74ASZWbe4lXaubB36ztrGX" data-name="Bob Dylan">Bob Dylan</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:7jefIIksOi1EazgRTfW2Pk" data-name="Electric Light Orchestra">Electric Light Orchestra</a>. Over the years Nigel’s circle of influence has grown to include genres such as jazz, funk and new wave. Artists such as <a href="spotify:artist:7bu3H8JO7d0UbMoVzbo70s" data-name="The Cure">The Cure</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4wyNyxs74Ux8UIDopNjIai" data-name="King Krule">King Krule</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5a2EaR3hamoenG9rDuVn8j" data-name="Prince">Prince</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5UqTO8smerMvxHYA5xsXb6" data-name="Sonic Youth">Sonic Youth</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3rxeQlsv0Sc2nyYaZ5W71T" data-name="Chet Baker">Chet Baker</a> are among his most influential as of 2024/25
