Sergio de Miguel is a Los Angeles based Pianist and Composer, originally from Spain. Winner of the 45th and 46th DownBeat Magazine Award (Best Small Jazz Combo), 2022 Yamaha Young Performing Artists Competition and the 2022 Berklee Piano Department Chair Award. He graduated from Berklee College of Music double majoring in Film and Media Scoring & Piano Performance with Summa cum Laude, and is currently completing his masters degree at Columbia College Chicago.
Sergio fuses his Galician roots with jazz and modern harmony, as well as other World musics, latin rhythms, classical music and flamenco. This fusion is reflected in his first studio project, Espirales, as well as in arrangements of tunes like Muiñeira de Chantada or Zyriab, that were recognized in different awards in the US. He has performed in many venues and jazz clubs in Boston and Galicia, as well as in festivals like Munijazz, CanJazz or NigranJazz.
