set on edge

Founded in 1992 on the campus of Ohio University in Athens, OH, Shannon "Saint" Lewis, Steve Rieske, Randy Kinsey began writing on a Cru retreat, soon after adding drummer, Dave McCall, to officially round off the band. They played all over Athens, including the Front Room & Another Fool's Cafe, but found a home venue in the Union Bar & Grill. One highlight was filling in for Sixpence None the Richer at a Willow Creek youth event in Chicago, IL. Upon graduation in '96, Shannon continued the band in his new home of Athens, GA, with a reassembled line-up including key members Pat Strawser & Patrick Davis, sometimes including Steve or Randy as special guests. During this season Set on Edge not only became the "house band" for the Bean'ry, but played the 40 Watt, Atomic Cafe, Tasty World, & many other area venues & festivals, opening for Elf Power, Apple in Stereo, Matthew Perryman Jones, & even sharing the stage with John Mayer, while also getting established in Atlanta as a regular at the renown Eddies Attic. After another move in '03 a 3rd line-up was assembled in the Golden Isles of Georgia, but this 3rd line-up only wrote & recorded a few songs, soon after evolving into the band Saint Lewis, which continues to this day. While active, Set on Edge performed live in OH, MI, KY, GA, FL, MO, KS, OK, & IL. Many unreleased Set on Edge songs survive from every era of the band, & are being edited, & remastered, to trickle onto streaming eventually.
