Sethera

Using a wall of synthesisers, improvisational electronic music duo, Sethera is a project focused on working with and responding to dancefloors to create a constantly shifting, hypnotic musical experience for audiences. Through the sounds of psychedelic trance, melodic techno and acid house, the rattle of hard beats and bass drive the music forward and familiar vocal samples are remixed to create a trippy soundscape for ravers.

Most musical pieces are performed on hardware such as a custom built modular synth rig focused on being a flexible system geared towards spontaneous live performance looping. The music created with the system is malleable but mostly inspired by the sounds of techno and trance.

In the past, Connor has worked with various dance groups at the University of Cumbria creating soundtracks that grow alongside the dance routines. The interaction between music and dancer causes a push and pull of energy between the size and scale of the music and movements. Sethera has also opened a few art exhibits and provided a fitting soundtrack/ambience to the space.
