Seven Lions, aka Jeff Montalvo, is known as the pioneer of melodic bass: blending dubstep, trance, and cinematic soundscapes into a sound that’s uniquely his own. Since his breakout remix of Above & Beyond’s “You Got to Go,” Montalvo has carved out a singular space in electronic music - bridging festival-ready energy with deeply emotional songwriting.
His debut EP, Days to Come (2012), quickly earned critical acclaim and fan devotion. Over the next decade, he continued to expand his sound with standout releases like Worlds Apart (2014), The Throes of Winter (2015), Creation (2017), and Find Another Way (2020), often collaborating with artists like Kerli, HALIENE, SLANDER, Jason Ross, and Wooli. His remix work, including tracks for Above & Beyond, Tritonal, and Illenium, further cemented his status as one of the most versatile producers in the scene.
In 2018, Montalvo founded his own label, Ophelia Records, which quickly became a home for genre-pushing melodic bass and a launchpad for rising talent. He released his long-awaited debut album Beyond the Veil in 2022, showcasing his growth as a songwriter and storyteller.
In 2025, Seven Lions unveiled his second full-length album, Asleep in the Garden of Infernal Stars - a callback to his earlier years that embraces his journey of taking his own path. Drawing from across his catalog and early musical influences, the album marks a bold evolution in his sound: immersive, cinematic, and unbound by genre conventions.
