This is what it's like to try believing without any clear, personal experience of God.
One cannot simply choose to believe. Faith follows conviction. To believe without conviction is to pretend—or to wander blindly.
Nor can one choose to believe that tomorrow, the sky will remain orange all day. It has only ever been orange twice a day for as long as we've kept record. One could wish for a day of endless sunrise, and that would be a beautiful day—but to choose to believe it would be absurd.
And yet, I find myself wondering–for there is something rather than nothing. That, at least, must be true. Truth itself seems to defy logic.
And if so—could we then choose to believe?
