Sever The Light is a gothic-alternative metal band based in Mexico City and formed in 2021. We love dark and heavy sounds and believe in the power and emotional influence of a deep obscure musical atmosphere.
We believe in the beauty of darkness and night. Darkness, as believed in the gothic ideology, is a place of introspection, silence, where we get to know ourselves better and our most fervent passions; a place of peace, and fullness. Sever the light means “cut the light” (so that we can enjoy the darkness).
Our goal is to generate an innovative concept within the metal music industry by uniting diverse metal subgenres and catch the attention of metalheads worldwide and new generations; to boost the metal scene in our country and connect deeply with our listeners' emotions.
