Perhaps known as Southern California’s most leftfield, enigmatic and fervent junglist, producer and DJ, SGT.STVA’s approach to composition is both eclectic and iconoclastic to the majority of his peers and influences, yet simultaneously tends to fondly reference simpler and more creatively constructive times. Meanwhile, STVA's musical appeal is known for hitting rich notes of nostalgia both uniquely vivacious and enticingly strange to ravers and audiophiles seeking jungle, techstep, hard breaks, g funk, jazz fusion and bebop.
He initially gained burgeoning recognition in 2015 on Max’s K’s Ruff Landing EP released by Dub Chamber Records, where despite being the label’s final release, STVA’s remix of Year of the Junglist was catapulted into unlikely popularity becoming the label’s most streamed song, partly thanks to 8Mara’s “Soulful Drum N Bass Mix”.
Additionally, he created his company JungleFire Productions and collaborated with dozens of other DJs and uptempo/DNB companies in San Diego and Los Angeles. Notably producing Jungle House Presents: Amenopolis, the JHFM podcasts (2015-2019) and select Organized Grime Mondays until retiring JungleFire in 2020 to form his label, S’ORÉAL Empor!um Records.
With ceaseless passion for uncharted creativity that only expanded with age, STVA continues defying expectations of fans and critics alike ending a 9 year live DJ-ing hiatus in 2023 with a handful of performances! Plus, a bevy of classic rollers and original enchanting tunes.
