Shaantanu Shende

Shaantanu Shende is a songwriter, producer and performer from India. He made his debut album 'Whistling Winds' in 2017, performing all the instruments and writing all the music and has recorded prolifically ever since. His music explores a variety of styles including folk, psychedelic rock, renaissance music and progressive rock etc. Shaantanu made his second album, 'Direct Messages' in 2019 which explored AOR, pop rock & alternative styles.

Shaantanu is an avid enthusiast of synthesizers and drum machines and has released some music made entirely on these instruments. This longstanding penchant for electronic sounds can be heard most recently on the singles 'Pralay' (2023), 'Shamanic Pandemic' (2020) and previously on 'the sun, she said' (2019).
Aside from making his own original music, Shaantanu has also helmed the role of a film scorer and soundtrack composer on three short films since 2018.

'Whistling Winds II', the third solo album from Shaantanu was released on April 6 2021. It is a collection of seven previously unheard pieces of music and can be streamed everywhere. In collaboration with long-time fellow composer and partner in crime - Manas Pimpalkhare , Shaantanu released the progressive rock EP 'Three Shepherds' in 2023.

Shaantanu is currently working on two concept EPs and plans to release them later this year.

A keen performer, Shaantanu performs in the Grateful-Dead inspired psychedelic band 'Space & Co.' and the blues/jam band outfits - GJB and G2Live.
