Shabnam Jaleh

Shabnam Jaleh is a Persian-American artist, born in Tehran, Iran raised in California, with a Pop R&B music influence. Shabnam was discovered by grammy award winning American music producer Lil’ Ronnie in 2013 who sought her out based on her songwriting and vocal skills. However, shortly after recording a 4 song EP with the power-producer, Shabnam decided instead to pursue a career as a Persian artist, something near and dear to her heart. Shabnam’s determination came from her passion to stand against the discrimination women in music where facing in her native country, Iran. Due to the nature of the strict laws in Iran, women have been banned from singing, and pop music outlawed altogether. Shabnam felt strongly about her duty develop Persian music in an effort to represent women in an industry under-represented.

After her story and unique vocal register caught the attention of Shahbal Shabpareh, the founding “father of pop” music in Iran, he set out to collaborate with Shabnam on the first ever Persian cover of an American pop song, which he wrote and produced. In September 2018, Shabnam debuted her first single, “Radsho”, with Shabpareh’s famous band, Black Cats.

Currently Shabnam is working to release her first album in 2020 with several singles being released throughout 2019 to introduce her progressive music style. Shabnam’s goal is to empower Iranian women, artists and musicians to continue their love of the arts and use their voice as their power, despite the odds.
