Shacee is a rising hip-hop and alternative R&B artist from Montgomery, Alabama. With catchy lyrics and a distinctively playful flow, Shacee’s debut EP project ‘Long Gone’ explores her personal experiences of maneuvering through relationships to find someone she can truly connect with. Relatable, witty, and flavored with nostalgia, the EP features upcoming singles 'Cross Your Mind', 'Speed Up', 'Coffee', 'Bounce Back' and 'He Knows’.
Shacee, whose childhood was filled with music, credits her father, a beat producer, with influencing her decision to take her talent more seriously. Hearing his beats everyday in- spired her to start writing songs alongside playing instruments like piano and flute.
The R&B singer says that she feels most inspired when connecting with new people and cultures. Shacee says: “My main inspiration for music is interaction, because I like to travel to places that I never been to and meet different people. I feel like there’s a lack of posi- tive music, a lack of authentic artists out there right now, and that motivates me too.”
Shacee, who started out as a Christian hip-hop artist, performed live at various churches and venues around Alabama before evolving into hip-hop, pop and R&B. This creative decision, the R&B singer says, was to prevent herself from getting stuck in a ‘box’.
Shacee’s ready to make moves this year, starting with her debut EP. Look out for ‘Long Gone’ releasing on July 31. Follow the artist for new music and updates.
