David A. Gravagno started the 'Shady Monk' project in early 2013. Born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia PA, David was shown Ableton Live by his oldest brother in 2008, and has been an active electronic music producer ever since. As 'Shady Monk' he crafts a wide range of different electronic music, often focusing heavily on elements of jazz fusion and retro video game/chiptune aesthetic, as well as more soundtrack based pieces.
In 2020 a secondary major alias was started under the name Shay., with a more Pop/Alternative/Club oriented approach.
Other notable side projects include: Tremophon, Minimonk, Dreamland Circus (a collaboration with Vagrant), Fire Is A Time Machine, Sunnybrook Road (a collaboration with older brother Eric Jon), & Vapordave.
