Growing up in Vancouver, Shae’s father introduced him to a wide array of music.
Watching him create genre-bending tracks,
fusing reggae, blues, funk, jazz and hip-hop.
He didn’t know it yet but this would be the cornerstone for his sound as a future artist.
His father, Randy Ponzio unfortunately passed away in 2011. Shae then vowed to work hard and
keep their family name alive through the music.
He got infatuated with developing various flows, an arsenal of lyrics and mixing styles so
that he can fully express himself. Drawing inspiration from Outkast, A Tribe Called Quest,
Bob Marley, Mac Miller and The Roots. You can see why Shae combines a smooth
effortless approach with clever and honest wordplay.
Hoping to inspire people through expression of his pain, he wants to show the beauty
that can be found on the other side of life-changing events.
“It's Bigger than you and me, it's about love, peace, foundation & family”
- Randy Ponzio.
