SHAMAR is an up and developing artist of South Carolina. SHAMAR began singing at the age of 8, emulating artists like Lyfe Jennings, Sia, and Chris Brown. Later, at the age of 11, he began to write poems and songs. Often shy and bashful, SHAMAR kept give love for singing and songwriting to himself, only allowing his parents and sisters to hear. Soon he had to face his fears and perform for his college band, singing “Coming Home” by Leon Bridges. Not too long after, SHAMAR dropped his first single titled “Guud Newz.” The song’s lyrics pokes at the idea of everyone focusing on negative things instead of the positive, while being sung over a pop lofi beat. “2nd Child” would soon follow the first single as a more sentimental piece. A diary that was later arranged into a song about his childhood. Both songs ended up being on SHAMAR’s first ever EP produced by local artist Vocalz , SHAMAR’s former coworker and friend at the time. After a few years of working on his voice, confidence, and overcoming a breakup, SHAMAR released his latest single “more”. A uptempo R&B track centering around his recent breakup. The song showcases more of SHAMAR’s vocals, skill improvements, and sound development.
