Shamina is a singer/songwriter from California whose sound blends thoughtful lyricism, pop
melodies, and jazzy undertones. Never one to fit neatly in a box, she embraces the in-between,
finding balance musically and personally. Her writing aims to hold space for tension, healing,
and hope, meeting listeners wherever they are.
The daughter of Iranian-born Assyrian parents, Shamina grew up in a uniquely creative home.
Her father was a professional singer and member of the Iranian Opera House, while her mother
was a business minded wedding & event planner. Their encouragement and support gave
Shamina the freedom to pursue music wholeheartedly, an uncommon gift in many
first-generation immigrant households.
Her Assyrian heritage and Christian faith are woven throughout her work, offering a rare and
meaningful perspective on identity, belonging, and being seen by God. Her upcoming self-titled
EP, produced and co-written by Zach Bolen of Citizens, is a deeply personal exploration of those
themes - one that showcases both the richness of her story and the many sides of her voice.
Shamina prays these songs bring comfort, challenge, and a reminder: while life can be many
things, Jesus is still good.
