Istanbul-based hip hop artist SHARPSTEEL developed an interest in rap music at a young age. After working on music for a while and recording demos, he began to develop his own style in 2021, influenced by the hip hop movement.
SHARPSTEEL grew up in the Bahçelievler district of Istanbul. According to his own statements, he faced various difficulties during his childhood and teenage years. The artist, who embraces the themes of struggle and effort in hip hop culture, found an opportunity to express himself within this culture.
In 2021, he founded his own record label, FlexGNG Music. Within four years, he released 86 singles. Sixty-nine of these carry the pseudonym “Malevent,” his second alter ego.
In 2022, he released his first English project, the CB2022 Album. A year later, he released the nine-track album CB2023. In April 2024, he released his first EP titled LOVE under the pseudonym Malevent, featuring himself and artists from his label such as Burkay Yörük and Rgis01.
During his hiatus, he began listening to Kanye West's old beats and songs extensively. He started reflecting the energy he found in Kanye onto himself.
On March 19, 2025, he released the songs Uyku Günü and Paraları Harca.
On March 29, 2025, he released the track $TEEL IN, which was very well-received by listeners.
On October 3, 2025, he released the track OKB (INTRO), which is the intro track of the FlexGNG Series I Album.
