Hi! My name is Shaun Erik (Jan Erik). I love to play and compose music. My grandmother Leny taught me to play the piano, she was a concertpianist. Than I met the (side)flute at the age of seventeen.
Classical music I learned at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. But my greatest love in music is world music like Celtic,- Flamenco,- and South-american world music. Also I like to compose music for Yoga and to relax. I toured many times in Ireland with our group King’s Galliard ('73-'80). Now we play some reunion concerts. After being in South America (Brasil and the Andes) I fall in love with the Keña (bamboo-flute), Zampoña (pan pipes) and charango (small indian guitar with 5 double strings).
With our groups Yuca & Pandora ('80-'95) and Briza ('95-now) we performed thousands of times in schools and theaters, since 2000 mostly in our Zeeheldentheater in The Hague. This beautiful theatre is owned by my wife Yvette Olof (she was a dancer) and myself. Making Productions with important social themes is our way to make the world a better place for everyone to live in :)
