Shawn Maine

Shawn Maine's music is laced with love. As an Afro RnB artiste, Shawn has infused his soul and jazz influences in the afro music space, in turn setting his sound apart from the mainstream. Raised in Uganda, Shawn stepped into the music scene in 2019, with only a single to his name, Stay ft J-Wats, which was well received among the urban audience leading him to share an audience with icons like Wizkid and Jidenna. With a debut EP, 'After The Pain', coming right after that wave of shows, he took a musical break to heal from heartbreak and get new experiences to write about. These experiences later shaped his sophomore EP, 'When The Sun Sets', an EP that was approached with great risk taking through songs like 'Resentment', 'These Dreams' and 'Tina' which marked as the single from the project.
As a songwriter that delves into themes that are being experienced by his own self, Shawn takes us on a journey through growing up as a young man in his 20s figuring out what love really is like.
For an independent artiste, this is only the beginning of the hopes Shawn has in shaping the East African sound and hoping to have more conversations about the quality of the music from the region, all whilst being true to himself.
