Irish/American/Israeli artist Shelley Bukspan moved from The Bronx to Israel at the age of 6 and made Ireland her permanent home in 1986. After 2 years playing with Cork jazz musicians, in 1988, she teamed up with Conor Brady and Eamon Flynn to form ‘Bird’, an urban soul/rock ensemble. Bird’s E.P ‘Chances’ was championed by Prince’s A&R who used ‘At Last Our Time Is Here’ on the Paisley Park answering machine. Shelley’s extensive collaborations include debut Saturday Live TV with Bill Whelan (River Dance); lead vocalist with Keltic Posse for the Montreux TV Special; ‘Elevator Raves’ in Ormond Quay with Tonie Walsh and ‘Alternative Miss Ireland’. She sang vocals with producer, Simon Fitzpatrick, for a remix of 80s hit ‘Maniac’, that D.J Marc McCabe turned into Irish E.D.M. anthem ‘Maniac 2000’ that Shelley performed to a huge audience at Electric Picnic 2017.
Shelley has collaborated with The RTE Concert Orchestra and The Modern Gospel Ensemble, and in 2014 with legendary Jamaican reggae artist Dave Barker for Mark Lamar’s BBC live session with Supertonic Sound Club. Her voice features in BAFTA winning director Neasa Hardiman’s film Sea Fever, and her instrumental version of ‘Happy’ features in movie ‘Blue Iguana’ starring Oscar winner Sam Rockwell. She performed with many more Irish artists including Bronagh Gallagher, Mary Black, Mary Coughlan, Mick Pyro, Gavin Murphy, and John Walsh. Recently she re-recorded ‘At Last Our Time Is Here’ with Eamon Flynn.
