Country artist Shelley Hamilton has built her career on storytelling through her songs. Shelley can be heard singing on many award winning records, and continues to mesmerize global audiences from Dubai, Japan to Barbados. She was thrilled to sing with the legendary Merry Clayton, (the spine tingling voice in the Rolling Stones classic, “Gimme Shelter”) at the 10th anniversary of “Classic Albums Live” in Toronto.
In 2019 Shelly was named “Artist of the Year” by the African Nova Scotian Music Association. Shelley was nominated for the Canadian Folk Music Awards (2020), as well as the East Coast Music Awards (2021).
In 2023 Shelley joined the “Black Opry Revue” at the Winnipeg Folk Festival to a standing ovation from a crowd of thousands! Shelley is reconnecting to her Africville roots by playing and singing original country music.
Her latest single “Think On Me” is a soulful version of the legendary Portia White’s iconic operatic ballad, reimagined. Shelley will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of her single "Cali Alone" with a re-release this summer.
