Shelly Peiken is a GRAMMY nominated multi-platinum American songwriter who has been a prolific, behind-the-scenes force in the music business for more than two decades. She is best known for penning culturally resonant, female-empowerment anthems such as Christina Aguilera’s No. 1 hit, “What a Girl Wants,” the first #1 song of the century and GRAMMY nominated, #2 Rock smash hit, “Bitch.” Shelly’s songs have appeared in many films and TV shows including “What Women Want,” “The Blind Side,” “Music From The Heart,” “Orange Is The New Black,” “30 Rock,” “Glee,” “Smash” and many more.

Her book Confessions of a Serial Songwriter, a memoir that chronicles her journey, earned her a second GRAMMY nomination for Best Spoken Word Album.

After decades of writing songs and years of creators’ rights advocacy with SONA (songwriters of North America), Shelly is thrilled to be making an album of her own — 2.0 etc… will be a mix of songs she’s written with and for artists over the years as well as some personal favorites that you'll get to hear for the first time. Two singles from her new album, “Just Wanna Be Your Girl” and “What A Girl Wants” have released and both have landed on Apple Music’s Easy Hits Playlist, as well as Shelly’s own Songbook for her songwriting overall.
