The group leader Ustad Sher Ali is a prime disciple of the late legend Ustad Bakshi Salamat and is the teacher of well known qawwals Nasir Ijaz Faridi & Tahir Qawwal. His brother Ustad Mehr Ali is a disciple of the late legend Ustad Mohammad Ali Faridi.
The music and wisdom of Sher Mehr Ali is featured in the award winning documentary series Qawwali - Music of the Mystics by Tahir Qawwal.
