Born and raised just outside of Brockville, Ontario, Sherri Wood grew up listening to Country Music and watching the CMAs on their one channel television. She learned to play the piano but the guitar became her instrument of choice. At the age of eleven she performed on stage for the 1st time with the Golden Triangle Benefit Jamboree and became a regular from that day forward. She also performed in many local talent shows including the Prescott Loyalist Days where she met and joined Three's Country Showband. The band evolved into The Patent Medicine Show and played for many years around Eastern Ontario. They performed at the popular Riverfest in Brockville in 1989 opening for Wayne Rostad and again in 1991 where she was thrilled to open for one of her favourites, Michelle Wright. In 1993 fronting Sassafrass, she opened for The City Slickers and in 2000 Dangerous Goods also appeared on the Riverfest Stage. Sherri also performed many years at the Palliative Care Telethon at the Brockville Arts Center. The birth of her son, Austin put music on the back burners for a while but in 2005 she was back singing with River City. Sherri always continued to play, write and work behind the scenes at shows and festivals as stage crew. In 2018 she began recording her 1st CD with Randal Orr, producer, at The Powder Room Studio then Covid stalled recording. She is finally releasing her 1st single Don't Wanna Cry and the bonus to waiting so long is her son Austin is playing bass.
