Hailing from South East London, Shimzie is a British-Nigerian music artist who is out on a mission to break the status quo by pushing his own distinctive Afrotrap genre.
Shimzie’s sound derives from Afrobeat influences with added Hip-Hop/Melodic Trap infusions. it’s a unique sound he’s been honing over the past few years and one he’s looking to make a breakthrough with this year.
His ability to blend genres from across the board make him a diverse artist with an ability to create catchy hooks. His creativity and work-rate have been noticed by his peers, leading to a number of collaborations with established artists such as Mostack, Darkoo, M24, Romzy and Paigey Cakey.
Shimzie has already performed at some of the biggest events and stages across the UK. He has taken the stage at 02 indigo Soundstage, Notting Hill Carnival and Love Box festival to support acts such as Maverick Sabre, Professor Green and Afro B.
He is also a founding member of the Afro Allstars Collective (AAC) which houses musicians, poets and creative influencers from all across London.
