In the early 90s, Shine were a standout live band who navigated the currents of clubland music, where their soul-infused melodies sometimes got lost in the dance floor soundscape.

However, by 1996, the second incarnation of Shine underwent a transformative journey, reconnecting with the roots of its members deeply entrenched in the British mod movement. This renaissance paid homage to Acid Jazz, embracing the soulful tones of African-American soul, jazz and blues, enriched by the fiery echoes inspired by The Jam.
