"Aggressiveness, sweat, vulgarity, entertainment, a freakshow." This is a quote from interview of Phil Ansemlo describing the live shows from the legendary groove metal band, Pantera. This quote can be applied to any metal band known to man. Shivan is one of those bands.
From their humble beginnings in Burlington, New Jersey, Shivan is slowly becoming a big part of the South Jersey metal scene. Inspired by giants of the Modern Metal scene like Slipknot, Gojira, and Machine Head, Shivan has become a ferocious and powerful force. A vulgar display of power if you will. Founded by guitarist and vocalist Conor Brady in 2022, Shivan would record and release its first few demos throughout 2022 and 2023 on SoundCloud with them gaining some popularity amongst his friends and family.
On January 13th, 2024, Shivan would officially play its first show since its formation and over the course of 2024, they have played several shows including the infamous Stone Pony in Asbury Park as well as The Union Firehouse in Mount Holly. On May 19th, 2024, Shivan would release its debut single entitled, “Nomadic” and would debut it live at the first show at the Union Firehouse and many other shows at popular venues. On June 30th, 2024, Shivan would release its debut album, “No Man’s Land” to critical acclaim featuring hit songs like “Nomadic”, “I Am The One”, and “HARM”.
