During 2020 lockdown, two young Neapolitan boys, whose friendship goes way back to school hallways and private parties years, created one unique musical and artistic identity: Shoke.
Both Camma and Carlo’s early life was marked by the music.
Camma, at the age of 6, touches for the first time the keys of the piano with his grandpa. During adolescence, he starts to approach to jazz, soul and electronic music, and he begins to experimenting with his own pc. In the last few years he has been exploring the world of electronic music, embarking on the personal study of recording and mixing techniques.
Carlo, already fascinated by his brother’s console in early ages, starts observing and touching his 1210 technics, until he receives one of his own at 13. He grew up to the rock music, the Earth Wind and Fire, The Bee Gees and Michael Jackson. He developes a deep music culture. In these years he has refined the producing technique, studying digital softwares and their functions.
Linked by the passion for the music, they’ve immediately found each other in console and producing. Thanks to the merge of their tastes, Shoke creates tracks with a minimal and swinged groove, alternated by glitches and fill of drum. They often revolutionize a voice take, creating syncopated and pitched vocals. In the studio they are always looking for innovative sounds and rare rhyme schemes, trying to improve their sonic signature.
