Short Month was founded in late 2015 as a duo by songwriter Andy Dauphinais and drummer Tyler Shand. They named the project Short Month because they needed a name before their first show less than a month away. A few months later, Short Month recruited Travis Gorman on guitar and James Cryan on bass. They released their debut EP, "Two Weeks & A Bit " in Spring 2017, produced by Justin Blau. After a summer packed with shows, Short Month began to fall apart, not due to disagreements, but simply members heading in different directions with school and work. In 2018, the last single by the original lineup "Don't Forget Your Saddle Cowboy," was released. Short Month would play a handful of shows with fill-in members, but Andy never successfully got the band back together. Before calling it quits in 2019, Andy collaborated with producer of "Two Weeks & A Bit," Justin Blau, to release one final EP, "Something Good Ahead."
