Malaysian acts can often be accused of lacking in sophistication, or thought. But Shuuna, consisting of duo Shuu and Moja, may just offer a retort to that.

Moja (guitar/synth) is an active member of the alternative rock band, Monalyssa when they had Shuu (vocals/guitar) as their guest singer from one gig to another. Eventually, the duo decided to form Shuuna late 2016 with the help of other experienced musicians as sessions to start their journey as a Malay folk band.
They were still looking for their sound for a while as they ended up performing more as a duo rather than as a band due to various challenges. It wasn't until they released their first EP titled Torsades de Pointes in March 2017 did they finally rebranded themselves as an indie-electronic-shoegaze sounding band as how their songs echoes throughout their first EP.
The pair was later joined by Fai (drums) of Paper Plains who then enhanced the whole dynamic of the band. Currently they are in the midst of recording their new album as we speak.
