SIGIR is formed by submerging a lot of fairydust in tar, cooked in the deepest forest by the ancient creature. Gathering their main influence from black metal acts like Dimmu Borgir, Immortal and Dissection.
SIGIR was formed in 2019 at Vesanto, Finland by Viljami Toikkanen(vocals&guitar), Eetu Pennanen(drums) and Paavo Luttinen(bass).
They had fully recorded their debut EP in 2019 and started gathering people around their production immediatly.
In 2021 they signed a record deal with Gramophone Records Finland. After signing a record deal they decided to fully reproduce their debut EP and compose a couple of songs more into it.
In 2022 debut album "Rainmaker" was produced by Euge Valovirta. Drums were recorded at Top Floor Studios and produced by Jakob Herrmann. Guitars and bass at Euges studio at Allschwill Switzerland and vocals recorded and produced by Jake E in Gothenburg. Orchestrations was done by Petri Alanko, over arrangements Viljami had done and with Petris special twists. Mastered by Jacob Hansen
In 2024 Teemu Hietamäki (previously known from Marrasmieli) replaced Valtteri Pitkänen on second guitar. Right now they are composing a second release again with Euge Valovirta.
