Sigurd Brørs (born 1968) is a former professional cross-country skier who first picked up a guitar in 1996, aged 27. Five years later his Trondheim based indie-pop-rock band Karl Barx was Ukas Urørt on Norwegian p3 radio. Karl Barx released the EP «The Sekret Songs of Karl Barx» (2004) and the CD «A Produkt of Imagination» (2009) to critical acclaim.
Sigurd went on with the one-man-band The Brørs and released 13 singles/music videos in 2016 and the CD «Pappapop» in 2018, where he celebrated birth, family and fatherhood. «Pappapop» also marked a complete transition to lyrics in Norwegian.
Now Sigurd is finally releasing music under his own name. The single «Fjell og vilje» (2023) is a duet with country singer Martine Haugen and is the «theme music» for his wife Guri Sørumgård Botheim's novel «Høgfjellsmeldinga».
Next single from Sigurd, «Drøm. Liv.» will be released November 21st.
