The youngest sixth child of Cabe-Verdean parents, Fernando Nobre was born in Lourenço
Marques, Mozambique. Singer, songwriter, theater director, and actor, he graduated from the
Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema of the Conservatory of Lisbon. Since then, he has
performed in more than 50 theater plays at Companhia de Teatro da Garagem, where he was
part of the permanent cast for over 10 years. He has taught theater and performance and was a
member of the gospel choir Shout. He also founded and collaborated with the Funkie
Messengers, Mister-Lyzard, and Funk do Boi. As frontman and vocalist of Cais Sodré Funk
Connection, he recorded 3 albums of originals. Now he has started a new musical project as a
Lusophone interlocutor and practitioner of Creole speech in an invitation to travel through the
history and heritage of black music in the diaspora. In the digital age of fast communications
and artificial intelligence, party, dance, and celebrate with Silk Nobre—organic and ascending
Black Music!
