Los Angeles born and raised, Silvandgold began releasing music in 2019 with her 5-song EP Catch the Kite. That same year, just three months later, she dropped her boombap, sample-heavy debut album Gaby Guerrero LP, which opened the doors for Silva to perform at multiple notable venues and stages. Two years later Silvandgold dropped her second full-length album Avant-Garde (When the Time Comes). This album led to her first ever self-funded tour, with shows in cities including Brooklyn NY, Las Vegas NV, and Chicago, IL, and two festival appearances, THOP Fest (The Happiness of Pursuit Festival) in Ontario, Ca, and Unidos Crecemos Cultural Festival in Lakeworth, FL which she co-headlined. This year, on June 21st, the bilingual MC and poet dropped her third full-length album Gold Rush.
Silvandgold is the first to tell you that although she's often called "nostalgic" in her sound, don't call her "old school," call her "classic." Today she can proudly say she's worked alongside the gods she grew up listening to, including One Be Lo of the notable group Binary Star, MC/Producer Supastition, and Living Legends member Scarub, just to name a few. There seems to be no end in sight for Silvandgold, and she hopes to continue discussing in her music the realities of Womanism in hip-hop, her faith and spirituality, and of course, the beauty of love, all while keeping the true culture of hip-hop alive.
