«Filled with all sorts of wonderfully mossy backwoods eccentricities» wrote music blog “I Guess I’m Floating” – and there’s not much to add to that. Silver Firs formed in 2011 in Bern, Switzerland and since then have followed a strict DIY credo when recording and producing their songs. In a time before playlists, Silver Firs’ releases met with great blog and college radio love (Hype Machine #1, CMJ Charts). Their singles have been featured on KEXP, Indie Shuffle, Flood Magazine, Pigeons & Planes, Bandcamp Weekly and the German Elle used the somber "Heartland" for a fashion video.
After a long break, the band released their EP "Lake Hypoxia" last year. A collection of songs created in collaboration with guest musicians followed in 2023.
