Silvie’s Okay is reminiscent of hearing your own story from another’s mouth at an AA meeting, of pulling over on the side of a dirt road at 2 AM to call an old friend with a sense of aimless urgency, only to be met with a soft assurance. It's unfiltered yet polished. It's a passionate one night stand and the sting of a kiss from the one that got away.
The ache-y country project of Vince Thompson, Silvie’s Okay is a return to his roots of blasting pop country through the AM radio of a tractor. Raised on a cattle ranch in the High Desert before moving to Boston, he now calls Western Massachusetts home. With a serious knack for weaving enticing melodies and catchy hooks portraying the complexities of grief and euphoria, heartache and sexual liberation, shame and gratitude - Thompson’s poignant songwriting and resonant voice rings out steamy heavy hitters that manage to feel timely and nostalgic, as if you’ve already known them for years.
A celebration of rising from the ashes of ended relationships, “Butterfly a Moth” is a slow burn reminder that to build a gratifying life, to wholeheartedly choose growth and find joy, is the purest form of gratitude we can offer those loved - and sometimes lost - along the way.
Since birthing the project in 2023, Thompson has shared the stage with artists such as Brennan Wedl, Olive Klug, Dean Johnson, Mal Devisa and Amelia Cry Til I Die, and will be performing at Green River Fest 2025.
