Forced March is the sophomore studio album by Danish singer-songwriter Simon Lec, scheduled for release on 29 May 2019 by 7 Strangers/Nordic Waves.
Recorded with the intention of making a pop album about his parent's mandated emigration from their mother country in March 1968, the album’s music features a bittersweet — but also heartwarming and sometimes humorous — alternative pop characterized by accented rhythms, lush textures and rich instrumentation. The album follows the nuances and trials of modern life in the aftermath of centuries of persecution. Simon Lec uses his parent’s expulsion as a leaping-off point for his more personal explorations of faith, family, and love.
