Modiri Mokopanele (born 24 Dec, 1996); known by the stage aliases Simpleton Mok, Simpletone Mok and Mok’ of which he uses respectively in his roles as Writer, Performing artist and Producer. Born and raised in Soshanguve, Gauteng
His artistic process and music philosophy are heavily influenced by his personal experiences. All of his music is authentic as he draws from real lived experiences. Influences include other mediums of art as he is an all-round creative who also delves in writing, photography, videography and design.
"My music is me and everything I am exposed to in my immediate surroundings. I am like a journalist in a sense, reporting on that and everything between. I always say Dilo Tlhakana, a s'Pitori phrase that means 'things will come together' or 'until things come together' but I liken it to divination. That is how I want my music to sound or whatever I share in any medium to make people feel."
