Singa was born 2004 in Los Angeles and being homeschooled he grew up traveling between LA and Germany. He already played drums with fellow musicians at an early age and started wrighting songs when he was 6 years old. He also learned how to play guitar and piano. He started rapping and discovered HipHop as his main influence at age 12.
Elul was born 2001 in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia. At 6, she discovered her passion for singing. Growing up listening to amharic and english songs, she got inspired to write her first song at the age of 10. Since then, she diveloped her skills by playing gigs especially after she went to Germany being 13 years old. She plays Keyboard, Guitar and Piano.
Elul and Singa met in January 2019 and started working on their first song as a duo, „Liking You“, on the same day. With this song they convinced the jury of the German casting show „Dein Song“ to be send directly to the finals, where they got to collaborate with multi platinum German DJ- and producer duo <a href="spotify:artist:67ghKnycRX6VM1xfqJSMlH" data-name="Younotus">Younotus</a> .
They also started working on their first EP, „The Door“, a representation of their journey as musicians, chasing their dreams, about to enter the door of success. It was released in March 2020.
It is a fusion of Singa‘s interpretation of German HipHop and Elul’s roots in traditional Ethiopian music, with some elements of mainstream Pop. Elul‘s amazing vocal skills and her sense for catchy melodies together with Singa as producer and astonishing lyricist make them into a perfect duo.
