The journey from the Siparia Deltones' humble beginnings as a steelpan arm of a social club to becoming a competitive orchestra with national recognition is a testament to the dedication, vision, and hard work of its founder, Sir Ellis 'Lively' Knights, and the members who followed.

The Siparia Deltones boast a rich playing experience that encompasses annual participation in Trinidad's National Panorama competition, along with captivating performances at global venues and festivals including Chicago, London, Amsterdam, and Cuba. The band has showcased their musical prowess extensively through performances and recordings alongside musical icons like the late Hugh Masekela and Machel Montano.

Founded by steelpan extraordinaire, Akinola Sennon, the Institute has helped shape the identity and pride of the community it serves by preserving and promoting the tradition of steel pan, while also developing a holistic approach to youth development through agriculture, heritage preservation, visual arts, dance, environmental sustainability, festival development and cultural exchange.
