Hailing from Detroit’s infamous Seven Mile is Sir Gangsta T, an American seasoned hip-hop artist and founder/owner of the Independent Record Label Hartless Records ( 2016). From the streets to the stage, Sir Gangsta T has lived and breathed everything that rappers usually write about, but don’t typically experience. Although music was always the backbone of his life — the rapper played lead guitar in the live band Mobile from age 11 — he always found himself pulled back into life on the streets.
Despite growing up embroiled in gang violence, drug-dealing, plus a stint in prison, Sir Gangsta T defied expectations by graduating college and achieving a business management degree. Since then, he’s taken his street smarts to the business world and founded multiple companies, including Hartless Records (est. 2016), under which he has produced and released over 20 albums to date. Whether he’s playing guitar or making beats, every lyric, beat and melody that Sir Gangsta T creates stems from a place of experience and pain — something that lights his inner fire and drive to keep grinding. He says: “I’m still recording through the pain of everything I’ve been through in life. That’s what motivates me.” Today the rapper continues to follow the inspirational advice passed down by his late father who was killed in the streets: Sir Gangsta. T is out here getting things done, album after album. Keep an eye out for his upcoming hip-hop project, ‘Black Gangsta 3’, dropping in November 2024.
