Sirius Curse

Last updated: 3 days ago

Sirius Curse, hailing from the tranquil small town of Rottweil in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, was founded in August 2014. While certainly not newcomers to the music scene, the band emerged from the underground rather than with grand ambitions. Their initial motivation was simple: the enjoyment of making music together.

Frank Würthner (guitar), Andreas Spitznagel (guitar), and Peter Hirsch (vocals) had previously played together in the band Exterior, formed in 1986, and released its debut EP, Interior Silence, in 1992. Together with Dominikus Sautermeister (bass) and Simon Wilde (drums), they completed the classic Sirius Curse line-up.

Four of the band members are family men, and all maintain full-time professional careers. Despite the limited time available, Sirius Curse steadily evolved into a band that increasingly attracted the attention of concert promoters and festival organizers. Remarkably, this was achieved without having any official recordings available on CD or other media formats. As the band puts it:

"A great deal was and still is possible, even without a physical release. With a release, even more will likely become possible."

In mid-2023, Andreas Spitznagel left the band. Since then, Sirius Curse has continued as a four-piece, better then ever, and has worked on the successor to the EP „Time Knows No Lies“.

The full-length album „When Beauty Awaits“ released on October 21, 2026, featuring nine tracks with a total running time of 43 minutes.
