"Sister Speak is the recording alias of Canadian singer, songwriter and guitarist Sherri Anne Nyberg. With roots stretching from the West Coast of Canada to Sweden, Alt-folk artist Sister Speak weaves together influences from many genres.
Produced in collaboration with JUNO Award-winning engineers Elisa Pangsaeng and Erik Nielsen, Sister Speak's new EP, Coming Home, is a heartfelt homage to her roots on Vancouver Island in Canada. First single, We Can Rise, is a powerful reminder to resist social apathy. The second single is Sister Speak's first ever French language release, L'amour partout.
Sister Speak has performed at festivals, iconic music clubs like the Troubadour, intimate venues, and supporting legends like Don Carlos, Air Supply, and the Doobie Brothers. Her song "Will it Ever" is featured in recent John Travolta/Kristin Davis action movie Cash Out.
Sister Speak has toured extensively throughout North America and Europe, and has released five albums to date, each of them “a result of moments of extreme vulnerability transformed into music,” says Sherri Anne. Sister Speak has a dedicated fanbase and has gained popularity through her stage presence, lyrics, authenticity, songwriting and recordings.
During her travels Sister Speak was named “Best Pop” at the San Diego Music Awards, “Top Ten Rhythm Guitarists” by NBC, and was regional finalist of CBC Searchlight in Victoria. Coming Home is currently making its way through Canadian and European airwaves.
