Sisters Grimm

Sisters Grimm, founded by Grammy nominated composer Ella Spira MBE and former Royal Ballet performer Pietra Mello Pittman MBE, is a globe-trotting production company, both literally and conceptually. The group celebrates cultural exploration and inclusivity, collaborating with both traditional and contemporary performance artists from around the world to create stylistically diverse musical performances, speaking to a wide range of cultures and embracing the principal themes at the centre of the social conversations of today.

Sisters Grimm collaborators are as diverse as the company is travelled, sharing the creative and performance space with the likes of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Jeremy Irons, Alfie Boe, Joely Richardson, the triple Grammy Award winning Soweto Gospel Choir, members of The Royal Ballet and local talent from the cultures each show represent.

The company has toured domestically and internationally to both mainstream success and critical acclaim, receiving glowing reviews from the BBC, ITV, The Guardian, The Independent, Evening Standard and The Telegraph, as well as achieving a Grammy nomination in the US and the Brazilian International Press Award for Best Show. The company’s debut production INALA featured in the UK’s Royal Variety Performance and in 2019 was showcased to a diverse audience at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, to standing ovation.
