SJ Parker is the moniker of UK composer Alex Stockley, made to memorialise his mother who passed away in 2024. Susan Janis Parker bought Alex his first piano, a Steinmeyer, when he was a child and took him to every music lesson and exam during his early years. She loved late romantic and impressionist composers and her favourite piece was "Arabesque no.2" by Debussy. She would regularly make Alex play it to her!
Inspired by the likes of her favourite classical music, Alex set out to capture her spirit in these soft felt piano pieces.
All pieces are recorded on the very piano she encouraged Alex to play on and inspired by parts of Sue's character and life; her favourite places, flowers, memories and childhood are now immortalised within SJ Parker.
