Swedish cult band Skellington released their debut album Last Human Standing in 2007, which surprisingly went directly to No 1 at the Scandinavian Megastores website charts for Most Bought Heavy Metal Album! And it stayed there on the No 1 spot for four weeks in a row! Then all of a sudden there was the classic tale of "record company problems"!
Formed in Stockholm, Sweden in early 2000, Skellington is a metal band with a mixed metal style of their own. Good reviews and a good reputation as an exploding live act on stage has given them an underground reputation. Often called "Super-Heavy-Metal".
Their reputation started right away with the First Blood, First Demo in 2001. A widespread cult demo around Sweden that included their highly celebrated cover of KISS "Love Gun" - translated into cocky Swedish "Stor Kuk" (meaning Big Cock)! This acclaimed demo included their first lead guitarist Bo "Chaq Mol" Karlsson - today a member of Dark Funeral.
After the first album, Skellington moved on making some well recived EP´s and played outside of Sweden, often experimenting with their image. In late 2015 the line-up split up due to some of the members being tired and the usual "musical differences", so they decided to leave (although still being friends). But the singer/co-founder Jac Rytterholm continued on chosing to handle it as a solo project. The EP "Caveman Rising" (2017) was completed with ex-lead guitarist Joakim Norlander.
A new album is planned for a release in 2019.
